Bristol Va. Firefighters respond to a House Fire

At 1400 on Wednesday afternoon Engine 3 was dispatched to Highland Rd for reported power lines across the road. As E3 entered the neighborhood Dispatch advised a house was on fire. E3 being a couple of block away reported seeing heavy smoke in the area. On arrival E3 reported smoke and fire visible from side 2 of a single family ranch style home. E3 staff went to work as other companies were dispatched. E3 Attacked the fire from the exterior to achieve a quick knockdown. Entry was made into the structure to conduct a primary search. After a search of the interior came back negative E3 staff proceeded to check for extension in the attic. E2 staff began roof ventilation for attack crews in the attic Quint 1 staff began breaching the outside wall to begin overhaul.
The fore was under control and extinguished within minutes.

Operating on the scene was Bristol Virginia E2, E3, Q1, Washington County E102, Response 1 (Shift commander), 2 Administrative Chiefs, and Bristol’s Fire Marshal.

The reported cause of this fire was a tree limb was cut and it fell into a power line and in turn causing the fire!

No injuries was reported to civilians or suppression personnel
